She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), a certified case manager (CCM), and she is recognized by the National Association of Social Workers as a Clinical Social Worker in Gerontoloy (CSW-G). Kim has recently been appointed Adjunct Faculty at the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she will be teaching a course on aging issues.

When she can find the time, she enjoys quilting and reading.
